  1. Clemson Tigers

-Dabo Swinney’s Tigers have to be the favorite to take home the national championship in the 2020-21 NCAA Football season. With Heisman candidate, Trevor Lawrence, under center, for possibly his last year in Death Valley, he has to be firing on all cylinders to bring home that national championship. Alongside him in the backfield is Travis Etienne, who opted to remain in college, rather than enter his name into the 2020 NFL Draft. While losing key players at wide receiver, in Tee Higgins, and Isaiah Simmons and AJ Terrell on the defensive side of the ball. The Tigers still have the #1 recruiting class in the nation for 2020, and always remain a threat with the Dabo Swinney- Trevor Lawrence dynamic duo.

  1. Alabama Crimson Tide

-Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide is always in title contention, but after Tua Tagovailoa’s health issues last year, the Tide suffered a couple of critical losses that put them out of the playoff race. However, incoming Freshman, and #1 dual threat quarterback in the nation, Bryce Young will look to compete with Mac Jones for the starting role. The offense remains high powered with Devonta Smith and Najee Harris. On the defensive side of the ball, Dylan Moses and Joshua McMillon will be returning to hold down the fort.

  1. Ohio State Buckeyes

-As a College Football Playoff semifinalist, the Buckeyes’ high powered offense is still being led by star Justin Fields. While the Buckeyes did lose a running machine, JK Dobbins, in the backfield to the NFL Draft. In his first season, Head Coach, Ryan Day, was named Big Ten coach of the year, and led the Bucks to a College Football semifinal. So, there is much promise in the future for the Buckeyes under the lead of Day. However, potentially their biggest loss comes on the defensive side in Chase Young, the no. 2 overall pick. However, with the no. 5 recruiting class in the nation, expect the Buckeyes to be a threat once again.

  1. Georgia Bulldogs

-There is no secret to the success of the Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs play hard, and they play tough. While losing Jake Fromm under center, the Bulldogs hold the no. 1 recruiting class in the nation. Under Kirby Smart’s system of smash mouth football, expect the Bulldogs to be in contention once again.

Dark Horse Threat

  • Texas Longhorns
    • With senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger, in his final year under center, expect the Longhorns to make a promising run into the College Football Playoffs. Ehlinger seemed to show his potential in the Alamo Bowl against no. 11 ranked Utah. He threw for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. Leading the Longhorns to a 38-10 victory over the Utes. Look for Ehlinger and the Longhorns to make an unexpected run in College Football this year.
